Americans historically have not haggled for better prices on most items. To keep up we need to learn that negotiation (aka haggling) is acceptable, expected and useful. We need to practice haggling. Mom never asked for a discount in my presence. It was humiliating to have to haggle. Garage sales – need I say more?
