Some grown children move thousands of miles away and change their names in order to avoid the ‘taint’ of the wealth and family name. Parents may be trying to keep the family together.

We Baby Boomers are fueling the travel industry and many of us are taking our extended families along on our vacations. Even the New York Times acknowledges that: As boomers join the ranks of grandparents, many are financing vacations for their children and grandchildren. We took my Mom with us to Florida in the 1980’s.

For our 40th wedding anniversary, we chose to take our adult children and our grandchildren on a vacation to Yellowstone National Park. No rubies, no parties, just family and lots of love and fun. The parents of one of our daughter-in-laws chose to renew their vows on their 40th wedding anniversary. The family expects it.

And when I recommended it to my daughter. My daughter and I look a lot alike, it’s something people always comment on. But I finally decided on pictures of me, my daughter and each of my grandchildren. Nicole’s take: We are a white Dove bar family and have been ever since I was young.

Generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”. First Frost (FREE as of posting time). She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.

The rest of the family has been sick off and on during this time frame, but never as bad as me, except for now. Both my grandchildren have the most disgusting mucous laced coughs I have ever heard coming out of tiny little bodies. Next week is the start of the holidays, and it is also my daughter’s birthday.
