Of course, I want the best deal possible, so I went scouting to see what I could learn about getting the best deal on a rental car. Choose the right car for your needs. Usually, if we fly somewhere and then rent a car, we just get the smallest (least expensive) type available. Here is what I found.

Our rental season is pretty much limited to 2 weeks in June, all of July and 2 weeks in August – sometimes with a holiday or two thrown in. I was counting on an average of 4 months rentals. Rental management companies may not distribute rental days evenly. We paid cash for our vacation rental.
