We tried making meal plans for two week periods before going shopping, but that led to some food waste since we are sometimes hit with specific cravings and ignore the plan willy-nilly. I prefer Honey Nut Cheerios and my husband is a fan of Total Raisin Bran.

For Easter, we were able to cut the cost of our dinner by doing some things that we will repeat for Christmas: Bulk Shop. I am normally not a fan of bulk shopping at places like Costco. Being that there are only two of us in our household, we never use up bulk groceries before they go bad, making it a wasteful endeavour.

Most people are in desperate need of a good old-fashioned handyman to do everything from hanging a ceiling fan to cleaning out gutters. It’s easier and more affordable to stretch dinner the night before and pack leftovers for lunch than it is to buy extra groceries to pack lunches. This will save you a ton of money!

Of course, dinner reservations, booking tours, and purchasing tickets should be done in advance. Lunch menus usually have the same menu items as the dinner menu but with smaller/more realistic portions and lower prices.
