If you like saving money, haggling for a better price should become a habit for you, a habit that can easily save you thousands of dollars over the next 10 years. So haggling for a better price was born out of necessity. Hopefully this advice can help you save some money as well and turn the art of haggling into a habit.

Americans historically have not haggled for better prices on most items. To keep up we need to learn that negotiation (aka haggling) is acceptable, expected and useful. We need to practice haggling. Mom never asked for a discount in my presence. It was humiliating to have to haggle. off the price.

. “I’m going to spend a boat load of money today in a furniture store,” she said to him, “if you give us x% discount it will be in your store, otherwise someone else will get our business” She got her discount! Persistence. We have successfully challenged appraisals twice with our county.
