What I Spent So I went to pull together my grocery spending for the week and I realized that it’s all quick trips to Safeway. This is better than endless nights of eating out, but definitely not as frugal as an organized trip to Aldi. I spent $63 at Safeway, spread out between an embarrassing number of trips.

However, groceries is also an easy budget category to control, but it takes some planning, skill, and organization. Personally, if I don’t make a shopping list and plan my meals, my grocery budget is toast. When I plan a menu, my spending is generally under control. That is a lot of money, so I plan our meals.
