When hubby gets on a collectible kick and buys expensive WWII artifacts, I get myself a new electronic toy, for instance. I know that when I was home with the kids, not earning a salary, I felt inhibited in saying how his salary should be spent. At the time, I was working part time for about 8 hours a weekend, earning minimum wage.

He wants to retire early so he can do more woodworking, electronic fixing, and maybe work at a winery or brewery part-time. Even though I had a car at the time, a friend and I took a bus to a nearby big city (about 2 hours away) for a weekend trip, because she is European and convinced me public transportation is amazing.

My Dad was a blue-collar factory worker with an incredible work ethic (3 jobs at a time to pay bills if needed), Mom (& her higher degree) quit teaching & chose to stay home to educate me & eventually my brother; they started a ministry when I was a year old-we all helped with the maintenance & function of said ministry.

A few years back, I hit my all-time high by borrowing 126 books over the course of one year. I love to read (Michael Connelly, Lee Child, Linda Castillo, Paul Doiron and C.J. Yup, I’m a voracious reader.

Gently used clothing, baby items, furniture, electronics, small appliances, books, fitness equipment, and tools sell well. My husband drives for Uber every time he comes home from overseas and makes around $1000 a month working part-time. Flip home furnishings. Start selling on eBay here. Drive for Uber.
