Our daughter is 24 and was adopted from Eastern Europe when she was one week short of a year old. My dad was a blue-collar worker – a machine operator on the railroad who sometimes got laid off for periods of time in the winter. My mom cut coupons and sewed her own clothes and mine, as well. Our son is 29 and biological.
