People opened their windows and used attic fans or sat in metal lawn chairs outside to cool off. Alone or with a friend. I was born in 1948 so my early childhood was spent in the 1950′s. I remember it as a simpler time, but a less convenient and more labor intensive era. If you are younger, imagine your life back then!
