My Mom grew up in St. Mom had a vegetable garden and grew sweet corn. Of course, later on I did get some really nice real dolls from my St Louis Aunts. In my Grandparents time, none of the neighbors had electricity, indoor plumbing or central heat. Grandma never had the chance until she was in her seventies. Inconvenient!
