Zoe still uses this freecycle nightstand that I painted for her in 2008 And now I have eleventy zillion furniture painting projects under my belt. Sure, I can tell you what works for me.

Did you find something on Freecycle that you were planning to purchase? The key is to figuring out what works and not discounting the value of finding a couple dollars here and a couple dollars there! can be downright overwhelming. Another option is to simply bank your savings. If you submit a $5 rebate, add $5 to your sinking fund.
