In 2007 or so, though, I got a nightstand from Freecycle, and I decided to try painting it. I am sure that if I did it again now, I’d do a better job, but it turned out well enough to give me inspiration to do more painting. Then I squeeze/pat the brushes/rollers dry and let them air dry before storing them for the next use.

Many years ago, I got a little wooden chest from freecycle. Sonia texted me a few weeks back to see if she could have the chest to store some blankets and stuffed animals. The freecycle chest is pretty small. And I filled a few spots on the sides as well. Look at the foot of the bed and you’ll see it.

In our consumer driven society where we have everything for children from designer clothing stores to classes to iPads, how does someone go so counter society and not spend anything on her children save childcare and medical expenses? Garlick got all of her children’s clothes and gear from friends, family, and sites like Freecycle.

Many stores are perfectly willing to let you bring in your own reusable grocery bags. It saves them money, as well as saving the planet! Look for a consignment shop in town, visit Freecycle web site, or check the Classifieds before you go to the store to buy new. Bring Your Own Grocery Bags. Plant a Garden.

Well, you know the saying… ask and ye shall receive! You might even luck out and find one listed on Freecycle or in your local paper’s classified ad section. Canning lids are extremely cheap and well worth the investment to purchase new. Many of you have specifically asked where to find used equipment.
