How long have you been reading The Frugal Girl? I know I found The Frugal Girl through the Non-Consumer Advocate, and I’ve read nearly all the archives. I was not raised by frugal people, but my fiance (now husband) was very frugal, and I wanted to learn how to adopt some of the same mindset so we could be on the same page.

Alcohol was dirt cheap in New Orleans, and transportation was a very small line on our budget in New York City. There are a lot of things you can make without a full stove, so this is a pretty good option if you want to be very frugal. Go Frugal' Thanks, couch surfing! After all, you’ve got to eat!

Pretty much every community in North America puts up a city tree. New York City’s Rockefeller Center ceremony is one of the biggest. Gingerbread houses at local hotels. The display is free to the public and is inside the beautifully decorated lobby of the hotel.

My hotel was just a couple of steps from Canal Street. As I would look at the price tags I was even more in shock because the prices are what every " Frugal Fashionista " hopes to one day encounter. As you have recently saw I went to NY for Fashion Bloggers Conference that were being held. The quality of the jewelry was impeccable.
