My dad was a blue-collar worker – a machine operator on the railroad who sometimes got laid off for periods of time in the winter. My mom cut coupons and sewed her own clothes and mine, as well. A third “why” is that saving money is like a game to me. I enjoy playing the game and I like to win. Made me proud!
