I biked to the library, to the mall, to the TCBY, to visit my parents at their offices in the university, to the pool, basically everywhere a kid would want to go. K and Finn (my parents dog) 12.

I’m thankful we had to learn how to cut back—how ridiculous was it to have dual full-time incomes/no kids and not save a cent?! What’s your best frugal win? Amusing Free Produce Living within walking distance of our city library is another win. Sorry, that was three frugal wins.

For 20 or so years I’ve been homeschooling my kids, and am now down to about 1 1/2 (one full-time homeschooler, and one doing College Credit Plus with some support). Eventually, when I was married and working at a library I ordered my own copy of the Complete Tightwad Gazette–and I still have it! Maybe four years?

A few years back, I hit my all-time high by borrowing 126 books over the course of one year. When my brother and I were growing up, our parents didn’t have much discretionary income. Yup, I’m a voracious reader.
