We do put up decorations (ones I buy at garage sales or thrift stores and reuse each year). Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes. If you sew, take off the buttons, zippers, lace, netting or whatever to use later. Like me, buy them used and then reuse them each year. What do you do to recycle/reuse on Halloween?

Learn to hem and patch and sew on buttons to repair minor issues with clothing. Instead of taking the family to a professional sports game, attend a little league game near your home and cheer on the neighbor’s child. This used to be a common occurrence with a shoe repair shop on every main street. Buy good clothing, used.
