Another benefit is that I am cutting the governments out of the loop – there no sales taxes on used stuff (except big things of course, like boats or cars). Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. Sales are a great place to find your Christmas décor.

The Frugal Girl blog does a great job of discussing this point! Today it is much less expensive to buy your clothes, even if you buy brand new and certainly if you shop some of the chic re-sale shops or even the thrift stores. Time saved alone is worth the small effort you expend in learning how to make these repairs.
