That job ended the day the old ’63 Buick Special broke down in mid-delivery, the baby was crying the whole time, it was freezing out and it was my birthday! What less than satisfactory part time jobs have you done to try to make a buck? To be successful, I think you need access to free or really cheap bulk sale items.

Now-I’m a single parent who works part-time, cares for my elder mother, homeschools & runs a farm. There’s always been garage sales/flea markets, library, state parks, fishing. Those skills/needs became vital in my marriage as the spouse was chronically ill with astronomical medical bills & expensive tastes.

We shopped at garage sales, turned down the heat, combined errands to use less gas, didn’t buy a lot of prepared food, cooked at home and the like. I worked a part time job the weekends he wasn’t working. Me: What kinds of frugality did you practice while you were earning your millions?
