I biked to the library, to the mall, to the TCBY, to visit my parents at their offices in the university, to the pool, basically everywhere a kid would want to go.

Today a poor person in America probably has access to electricity, telephones, food, indoor plumbing, central heat and public transportation. Dad grew up on his parent’s farm with a wood stove, an outhouse and kerosene lamps. I ended up freeze drying them in the garage! Trust me, that takes awhile.
