Girls and women wore dresses or skirts. Girls could not wear pants or shorts to school. Gasoline stations did not serve food, have coffee or provide bath rooms. Cheap (not just inexpensive, I mean cheap – easy to break) toys came from post-war Japan. There was no polyester clothing. Clothing had to be ironed to look good.
