I painted it white, and I put it in Zoe’s room, and then Lisey’s, and then when I moved here, I brought it along and kept it in Lisey’s room. Sonia and I went to pick it up and I brought it home to sand and paint it. Definitely time for some fresh paint. That’s the beauty of painting!

When I posted my last painting project : …some of you had questions/comments that I wanted to answer in a post so that all of you could see the answers. But I also want to encourage all of you by saying that no one ever taught me how to paint furniture. A simple paint job is a good start. So, here you go. But no furniture!

for space to paint inside It’s been too humid outside for painting, so I’ve spread a dropcloth inside to work on Sonia’s storage chest. The only complicating factor in here is Chiquita, who is quite invested in depositing fur on my wet paint. Either that, or I have to put my painting up high, like so.

I love glass containers for food storage at home, largely because they are see-through. Sometimes it helps to go somewhere else to get schoolwork done anyway; at Starbucks, I can’t decide to paint or fold laundry or wash dishes. ? Empty coffee cans are great for holding paint or turpentine or bacon grease. Zip lock bags are routinely washed and used again for food (or other) storage. Plastic bags are used as trash can liners, food carriers on trips, package stuffing for shipping and re-wrapping precious Christmas keepsakes for storage.
