We always find ourselves with so much leftover food, that everyone has leftovers to take home. In the past, I would give my family my glass containers to take food home in. Our messy chili, sloppy enchiladas and saucy pizza roll. I used all of the products shown and they all passed the Shaffer leftover test.

Leftovers can be a pain. After doing a few recipes using VELVEETA® and RO*TEL®, I found I had a leftovers, but not enough to create a full dish. With that said, I wanted to give you all a laugh about ‘this week’s highs and lows’ 1. I ordered pizza. However Domino’s is offering 50% off of Pizza’s because of March Madness. We have leftovers for the next day. I have 1/3 of three rooms packed up. 1/3 each I should say. I hate packing.

We wasted more food (produce, leftovers, etc. Backup Plan – I plan to try to keep specific items on hand that I can use to make “backup meals” I sometimes forget to get the meat out to thaw or find that I’m missing some crucial ingredient for a meal which leaves me wanting to order a pizza or go through the drive thru.

It gives the sauce texture. They each give it a slightly different flavor, and it’s fun to experiment. Use on pizza instead of red sauce. Leftover pesto isn’t a thing in our house, but if it is in yours, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. My favorites are parsley and arugula!

Designate one night a week as “raid the fridge’ night to get rid of leftovers. Everyone’s plate might look different, but you’ll at least use up the leftovers and reduce the waste. If you don’t think the food in the fridge will be eaten before it goes bad, place leftovers in a freezer container, label, and store in the freezer.
