Recycling is great for the environment and we should all be doing it (in spite of my title), but reusing is even better. When you can reuse or re-purpose an item, you are not only saving it from the landfills, but you are also saving the expense and energy which would have been expended when you recycle. Clothes pins.

Most of our breakfasts and lunches are eaten in and we keep it simple with cereal and eggs for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. Will there be laundry facilities? Does your rental have a kitchen? Drinking water.

Will you have laundry facilities? Include breakfasts, lunches, dinners and even snacks in your planning. For lunch, we usually pack a cooler with food each day that we are at the beach and eat out somewhere for lunch on the one day when we need a sun-break. Will there be laundry facilities?

When you have really big spills, grab an old bath towel instead of a massive amount of paper towels and then just toss the towel in with a load of laundry. Skip the sandwich bags and use re-usable containers in your lunch tote. Switch from paper tissues to flannel cloth hankies - Flannel is so much softer on my kids' little noses.
