I’ve been an architect, day-care teacher to toddlers, and library clerk, but am currently a SAHM to a 14yo son and 9yo daughter. Another big win would be taking advantage of our great public library system. This doesn’t include the many free in-library activities we’ve enjoyed over the years. Enjoying some outdoor time.

Back when I was engaged and living on my own for the first time (I lived with my parents while in grad school to save on rent), I went to the library a lot and found a copy of the Tightwad Gazette. Eventually, when I was married and working at a library I ordered my own copy of the Complete Tightwad Gazette–and I still have it!

Microwaves. I love my microwave. I remember trying to defrost meat in a hurry for dinner back in the old days when we didn’t have a microwave… yuk. Is it sufficient to be able to go to a library or school or other facility to use theirs or do we need them at home? Need or want? To me, a want. I need it!

Box are some of my favorite authors) and I use the library to borrow both regular books and electronic resources. We live on the side of a small mountain in a quiet, rural town, but we’re less than 20 miles from a city of about 25,000 people and its shopping and dining opportunities. Yup, I’m a voracious reader.
