While I have success finding coupons in the Sunday paper and online printing sources, like Coupons.com for hygiene, paper, and cleaning products, food is another story. I don’t find too many coupons for foods that we eat and I only save about $3-5 in paper coupons on each weekly shopping trip, which is hardly extreme.

That is one last thing I have to worry about spending money on (and high valued coupons are rare, especially when you combine them with a sale). Recently target had BIC on sale for $3.00 (reg. Food: I do a monthly menu plan. I take what I have in my pantry, check out my kids sports schedule and plan accordinly.

Paper products, such as toilet paper and diapers are easy for me to use coupons too. Menu Plan As I have written before, groceries are the one category that I feel like I have the most control over when it comes to spending. When I plan a menu, my spending is generally under control.

Use Cash I like to use cash while on vacation, because I am less tempted to buy useless souvenirs and over spend with a credit card, but it takes a little planning to come up with the cash that we need. Some of our ideas: We have a yard sale every spring and use that cash for our vacation. Plan for your travel. Drinking water.
