With my list, I went to my favorite thrift store to see what I could find. I only shop there on Wednesdays to take advantage of their 50% off sale. What I’m still looking for at the thrift stores: shorts. I’m very particular about what I buy at the thrift stores. after 50% discount.

I checked some local furniture stores to check the prices of new dressers. While I LOVE to shop at thrift stores, the thought of going to a stranger’s home was a bit scary to me– a former 24/7 news junkie. Next stop was my favorite thrift store where everything is 50% off on Wednesdays.

She also scarfed up any other gift wrap that looked usable, and she stored it carefully away for use the next year. While I am not that thrifty, and I love prettily wrapped gifts, I don’t like to spend a bunch on wrappings. Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales.

So instead of heading to a retail store, I hit my favorite thrift store (on a Wednesday for their 50% off sale) to see if I would have any luck. With the 50% off sale, both items were each $2.50. Luck is definitely what I found! Brand new, size 3, girls snow boots and gently used black overall snow pants in size 6.

I stopped by my two favorite thrift stores last week: Salvation Army & Community Aid, a local store. I only go on Wednesdays, because both stores offer an additional 50% off on almost everything. Finally, spring has arrived in central PA, so I carved out some time last Wednesday to hit the thrift stores.

Don’t spend too much money on a sun tea jar, I see them at yard sales and thrift stores all of the time. This post is linked to Thrifty Thursday. I stopped adding sugar years ago and now prefer adding my homemade herb-flavored simple syrup to each individual glass. It is so much better this way.

For many, the end of the year holiday shopping frenzy can override our saner, more thrifty selves. Spending our precious and all too limited time searching online and in stores. However, I wait until spring and summer to buy decorations – and get them at garage sales. Most claimed that the holiday sales were of no-name TVs.
