Not every Midas shop in my area does the free flat fixes, so call around if you need this service. You could sew the sock shut (and maybe one day I will), but the advantage of a rubber band closure is that you can just pop off the outer sock and wash it when it gets dirty. Sure enough, there was a pinhole leak in it.

We live on the side of a small mountain in a quiet, rural town, but we’re less than 20 miles from a city of about 25,000 people and its shopping and dining opportunities. I still remember saving my change as a kid so I could “shop” for books at yard sales.) My mom cut coupons and sewed her own clothes and mine, as well.

What’s your best frugal win? Luckily, my little is starting to enjoy some of these activities – like picking the peaches from our tree, grocery shopping, baking/cooking, and gardening and I love spending time with her doing these activities too! It has been amazing for our finances and my mental health.

Here’s what I used: I bought a plain red sleeper from a consignment shop for $1.99. Fabric glue $2.00 (because I was too lazy to sew). After overthinking it for a couple of days a huge lightbulb went off. I made this super cute costume for her and spent less than $5.00 Cut a patch off of an old hat my husband had in the closet.
