But if those gifts were paid with a credit card that doesn’t get paid off as soon as the bill arrives, any savings from store sales, coupons, and/or rebates might be negated from the interest accrued. It’s part of being a responsible family budgeter.

I’m challenging myself to find the cash in different ways other than my budget, and last month, I put the rebate I received in the mail from Ebates into my Christmas savings. My monthly goal is $100. How did I do in March?

This should cover my tentative 2019 Christmas budget that I based on what we spent in 2018. I’m challenging myself to find the cash outside of our budget. I also earned $20 from Ibotta and $7 from Ebates, and found $23 within our May budget. In June, I was rather uncreative and pulled the $100 from our monthly budget.

Found money can be found from various sources, such as rebates, refunds, online sales, or even the ground. New furniture wasn’t in the budget for this project, but we sold some other unused furniture in November and we now have enough to pay for the new furniture. Found Money in January: $1681. We…took out a car loan.
