Years ago, Mom introduced me to the idea of going to garage sales. People sell the darnedest things at their garage sales. Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. I look for the neighborhood sales, which are usually either in spring or fall.

The Toothpaste Millionaire is a juvenile level book that has many lessons to teach. One of the lessons in the book on which I will focus is that starting your own business can be lucrative and that all business ideas start by observing and solving a problem. I struggled awhile with this one.

And it''s usually slightly better stuff than what we find at Walmart or Target. Don''t forget garage sales! to coordinate properly, but what stops us from booking 4 days in San FRansisco and then renting a car to drive up to Idlewild? First off, we can get our gear for our hobbies at a discount (yeah, this is shopping).

I already had saved up a box full of wine bottles, in hopes of selling them at my next garage sale, so we didn’t have any cash outlay for those. Eventually I ended up at a scrap-booking store that carried 12 x 12 sheets of paper in enormous variety. They had black paper flocked with a scroll design that looked elegant.

This year I headed to Walmart and Target, browsed the 50-70% off clearance, and scored! I decided to check out the arts & crafts section at Walmart to see if I could find a sticker book instead, and I did! I get to buy all his party stuff on clearance after Halloween! Talk about perfect timing!

The lady ahead of me in the line at Walmart mentioned that the frozen pretzels she was buying were $3.00 Garage sales – need I say more? My first memory of helping was around 2 years old; I kept a ledger of expenses at 8 years old, which reflected priorities early (books & leather boots) & so it goes. Living in NW Arkansas is Walmart headquarters land. There’s always been garage sales/flea markets, library, state parks, fishing.
