I then divided that new number by 12 and that is the dollar amount that I am going to transfer to a savings account every month. I'll use that money through out the year for birthday gifts along with Christmas presents in December. I added up what we spent on gifts for the entire year in 2010 and reduced that by 20%.

Coming off of December, our extra funds were a bit low after paying for this past Christmas. I'm using a savings account that was used previously for another goal. By our next meeting on February 25, your first assingment is to open up a designated savings account specifically for your Christmas savings.

It is a big change for us, but I was able to put some of that difference towards our Christmas savings account. At the beginning of March I was still $40 behind from January & February, but I transferred $125 to our account this month and I'll aim to get the $15 in April along with our $100 goal. We must start saving for retirement again , we need to start college saving accounts, and it would be nice to take the kids to Disney while they’re still princess fans. We paid off our first renovation loan in December 2014 and the next loan should be paid off by the end of this summer.
