Even though I was helping my husband from home part-time with his business, I still felt like I wasn’t contributing to our finances and that drove me crazy.

We spend most of our time seeing friends and family, participating in our church activities or working on our property. I do a lot of our cooking from scratch which takes a lot of my time! but can use our money to enjoy life now and meet our family’s needs while still being responsible for the future 5.

Last year, to make a little extra cash, I started boarding dogs through Rover, and I am about to start a very very part time job using my RN license for a home care company. Our family lives on a ten-acre homestead property in the Mid-Atlantic region which we bought in early 2022.

Have a talk with your children and work together to make rules about how much social media time is allowed each day. Also, decide on times when the entire family will “unplug” to enjoy time together.

If you take on part time work while collecting unemployment you have to report it and give up a quarter of your weekly unemployment pay for each day of part time work, no matter how few hours or how little the earnings. Oddly enough, side hustling when you’re unemployed doesn’t always make financial sense.
