Recycling is great for the environment and we should all be doing it (in spite of my title), but reusing is even better. When you can reuse or re-purpose an item, you are not only saving it from the landfills, but you are also saving the expense and energy which would have been expended when you recycle. Plastic trash bags.

She has always reused food containers, such as glass pickle jars or plastic cool-whip and sherbert containers, so I am not quite sure how or why I got started buying plastic food storage containers. The jars might not all be the same shape and size, but I'm not shelling out money for containers anymore. It seemed a bit wasteful.

A few years back, my extended family took a trip to Holland, Michigan. My family loves watching movies and tv series together, and having regular game nights. It can take a great deal of time to cook for a family every day, and in many houses the kitchen is a place to socialize, to work on homework, to eat, etc. It’s also one of the places in our home where we often inadvertently spend too much money. Paper plates are another popular culprit in some families.
