I kind of hate Black Friday because I dislike crowds and limited-quantity offers. So typically, the only brick-and-mortar store I go to the day after Thanksgiving is a grocery store. Grocery stores are wonderfully empty right after Thanksgiving! Every day, even Black Friday, is Commit Cat Crimes Day for Chiquita.

We’re a little tired of turkey, but it was marked to.63/lb. 79/lb before Thanksgiving. Tuesday: We had leftover chicken with pesto sauce from Monday night so I put on top of thin spaghetti. That’s with ground turkey, not Thanksgiving turkey. Friday: Burrito Bowls with a Costco rotisserie chicken.

Sunday: Leftover lasagna from Saturday. Wednesday: I used the last of the leftover turkey and stock that I saved from Thanksgiving and made Turkey Orzo Soup. Thursday: Much to my family’s dismay, it’s leftover night. One daughter declared, “I hate leftover night!” It was tasty.

When I made my menu and shopping list last Friday, turkey was NOT on the list. I roasted it immediately and used the meat of it for this week’s meals. I also made a bone stock and froze 2 (2 cup) portions of chopped meat to use later. Sunday: We went out for a large lunch after church and just had leftovers for dinner.
