Tell us a little about yourself I’m 40 years old, married with two sons who are 11 and 7 years old. I made some foolish choices shortly after graduating college, burning through my savings and running up credit card bills. We bought our house in March 2009, during some of the worst of the recession and the housing bubble bursting.

Don’t despair if you (or perhaps your children) aren’t planning on earning a four year college degree. So, take heart if you are not college bound.

Alternatives to College

I graduated from State U with a liberal arts degree in the early 1970s – when there was a world wide recession followed by stagflation. But, at least I graduated without debt. My son won his 4 year degree in Economics and then was able to get a job as a security guard at a retail store!
