Grocery Spending/Menu Plan | with no stuffed animals
The weather was so nice, my kids were running around outside while I was taking the grocery picture, which means that they weren’t inside to add stuffed animals to the groceries.

Grocery Spending/Menu Plan | Plastic vs. Cloth Edition
So, to make you feel better, here is a picture of what the back of my van usually looks like after a grocery shopping trip.
And here’s our dinner plan:
Saturday- Due to a belated menu planning session, we ended up having our usual Saturday night pizza on Thursday (this confused Zoe no end…she was sure it was Saturday night because we were having pizza!). Both when I posted this photo in September (while we were on vacation) and when I used it as an illustration for my Walmart post, several people have been vaguely horrified at the pile of plastic bags in the back of my van.

Grocery Spending and Menu Plan
This week I decided to divide up my groceries and take two pictures; one of my Weis groceries($17.21)…
…and 8230;and one of my Aldi groceries($35.74).
However, after buying those things I got $5 in ExtraCare Bucks(they’re like cash to spend at CVS), so it was basically a wash. In addition to those two trips, I spent $5 at CVS…I got a bottle of Irish Spring body wash, a tube of Colgate Toothpaste, one Dry Idea deodorant, and two small boxes of Wheat Thins. Even if I add that in, though, I only spent $57.95, so I’m over $20 under

Grocery Spending and Menu Plan-Crazy Weekend Edition
Tags: Grocery Spending Menu Plans Organizatio Lately, an awful lot of side work has been coming my way…I’ve had weddings, funerals, and choirs to play for, and a number of photography jobs too. This is good, because it will help us in our recent effort to ramp up our emergency fund , but on the other hand, it’s making me awfully busy(and I was busy before!).

Grocery Spending and Menu Plan-2.28
This is the last week of February, which means that the Grocery Challenge I’ve been participating in is up after this week. Last week, I was $1 over budget, so as long as I kept my grocery spending to $79 or less this week, I was all set to make my goal of spending $320 or less for the month of February.
actually shopped at three stores this week, because a local grocery store was having a very good sale on chicken breasts. I I got 7 pounds of chicken breasts for $1.35/pound, which is a delightful price.
