That was the year that we made the goal of paying off the last of our non-mortgage debts and we achieved it by September of that year. In 2020, our financial goals were to read, research, and understand both college and retirement planning. We used the snowball method to pay off our non-mortgage debts.

I have used the extra money to pay off debt, fund family trips, or build up our Christmas savings. In January 2020, we booked round-trip flights to Paris for the four of us. This trip was a reward for our years of paying off six figures of debt , and we were going to pack a lot into our week. Whew, got all of that!
