People can choose to buy a present through World Vision; part of what they pay goes for the present, and the rest is given as a donation to someone in need.) We probably should have given a one-time donation at Christmas instead of making a 10 year committment. There Are Always Requests for More Money. What was your experience like?

Maria exemplifies the Dollar General Every Day Hero through her commitment to build a better life for her family through literacy and education. Maria was a migrant worker and through The Family Literacy Academy of Immokalee in Florida, she earned her GED and was able to offer her two younger children a better future.
