Buy in bulk. With the rise of Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s Wholesale, it has gotten easier than ever to buy items in bulk. Buying in bulk seems like it would cost more and would be more harmful to the environment but the truth is that it’s not. Buying in bulk reduces the amount of packaging that is needed for a product.

In fact, most stores require you to be a member to get the weekly sale prices, so this is something you should do first. Shop the sales ad. It also helps to know when new sales start at your favorite stores.

Bulk Foods. The prices per pound on those bulk bins are shocking, but they can save you some money, especially if you only need a small amount. Instead, I went straight to the bulk bins and bought exactly two teaspoons for $0.59, which is what the recipe called for. I know, I know. I recently needed turmeric for a recipe.
