You can also buy bulk packs of Easter-themed cellophane gift bags to put your goodies in ($1/25ct.) I used to go to Target or Walmart for these types of things, but then I realized I wound up spending way too much on decorations and tchotchkes. solid chocolate bunnies ($1/each), and caramel easter eggs ($1/5oz.).

To hold down costs, I’ve been looking for recipes that are more thrifty in their use of things like nuts, chocolate and sugar (all the good stuff!). I’ll try out some recipes that call for butter – using oleo instead – to see if the flavor or texture suffers. You use those candy red hots instead.
