Donate Plasma. In early 2021, a friend posted on Facebook about how she was making extra money by donating plasma. I started donating plasma in January of 2021 and earned over $1000 in the first 3 months of the year. You earn money after each donation. They barely have food to eat, and the mother, who is pregnant, prepares for the new baby by sewing feedsack nighties for him. Yet, when people in the community come to ask for donations for the needy, the narrator’s mother does not hesitate to give away some of her few remaining canned goods. Or, donate to a family at Christmas.

Learn to hem and patch and sew on buttons to repair minor issues with clothing. Learn how to remove spots and do it as soon as the clothing gets dirty. Buy good clothing, used. Avoid buying cheap clothing new. Pass down serviceable clothing from child to child. Use up your food. Plan uses for your leftovers.

Do you love to sew/knit/crochet? However, there’s always stuff to sell, like outgrown, but good clothing, shoes, toys, household goods, etc. But that store credit is much better than sending it to the thrift store as a donation. My sister-in-law buys dozens every Christmas from a mom who bakes for cash.

Old clothing parts. Before throwing away old clothing, I snip the buttons off and remove working zippers (unless I’m donating the item). I’ve also cut up old pieces of clothing to use as quilt pieces and used old men’s cotton tshirts for rags. Clothes pins.
