My own sister-in-law paid for travel to Hawaii by charging her son’s college tuition (this option, by the way, is no longer available with her card company). I think they are a pain. I undersand the incentive, but don’t think it is worthwhile for us. Sure, I have heard the stories.

My son was 4.5 years old before his first sister was born, so we did have a (brief) taste of raising an only child. Only one child’s college tuition to pay. Sitting in this position, I am clearly able to see the personal pros and cons of having more than one child or having an only child. Having Just One Child.

By paying college tuition at the state university with a cash back rewards credit card (and then paying the balance off before any interest charges came due!!), my sister-in-law earned enough cash to take the family to Hawaii!! One of my relatives did this for the four years their son was in school. Get Rewarded.
