Allstate -offers Good Grades Discount for full time students under the age of 25 with high grade. Nationwide -has student discount for full-time high school or college students between the age of 16-24 that maintain a minimum B average. Many insurance companies reward families with good lower rates.

But anyway, this is how I did: Save $1,500 by using coupons and $3,500 by shopping sales: I spent 9 out of the last 12 months being a full time Honors college student, I didn't have much time to coupon. Even though I didn't meet most the goals I set out to accomplish, I'm not disappointed.

I still enjoy setting goals, but knowing I'll be in school full time from the end of January-May, then again from September-December, I'm keeping my goals simple-ish. I also want to save $1,500 by using coupons and $3,500 by shopping sales. Since I'm in college, I want to maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher!

My mom cut coupons and sewed her own clothes and mine, as well. I learned from the best, but I believe that a personal finance course should be a requirement for both high school and college graduation. He says we were busy building the house and our careers and it was money well spent because it freed up our time.
