If you are a parent, some day you will most likely become a grandparent. Being a grandparent is tons more fun than parenting. We spoiled our children and we apparently are even more intent on doing so with our grandchildren! I only remember staying with them once without parents around. They tolerated our presence.

For example, this week, I’m kidsitting my 11 and 8 year old grandkids at their house – getting them on and off the school bus, fixing dinner, helping with homework, playing with them and etc – while the parents are away on a much deserved adult only trip. Would you pay your parents to watch your kids?

Here are four things I learned after having grandchildren. My Aunt and Uncle used to take each of their grandchildren on a trip when they reached the ripe old age of 8. Parents had the right and the responsibility to raise their own children. Too bad, parents rule. They aren’t my children! But, it is my house.
