Some people keep their recipes on the computer, but I prefer my binder with its well-used, splattered pages. But I have seen a variety of binders at yard sales and thrift stores for pocket change. My recipe binder is a very important part of my kitchen. I am a bit obsessive about them being all white. I find it visually calming.

Cover thrift store finds such as boxes and crates with dish shards for an awesome magazine rack. Old used and broken computer keyboards become new picture frames or trinket boxes for the tech-head in your life. Anywhere you might use glass or tile for mosaic work, replace with broken china. The possibilities are endless.

Before you get rid of items that are still in usable condition, consider trying to sell them, or give them to a thrift store. Whether it’s an electronic device that you can plug in to the wall or your computer, or whether it’s batteries you can take out and recharge, do what you can to avoid new batteries.

Choose thrift first. And rather than throw unused possessions away, donate to a thrift store or offer up on Freecycle.org. I’m not telling you to turn off your refrigerator, but computers, TVs, gaming systems, smart phone chargers are all things that are usually left plugged in when not in use. You will save about $2.50

Sweater and Dress, Target Tights, We Love Colors Boots, Sperry Topsider (giveaway) Bag, Vintage, thrifted. I won't know what kind until he plays it for me. It might be pop, or drone or metal. There is no telling.
