Wednesday is my favorite day of week and not because it’s HUMP day–i t’s 50% off day at my favorite thrift store. . Megamarts like Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, Aldi’s, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, and even franchised grocery stores carry the same quality of goods that you’re used to buying, but they don’t carry the overhead costs that come with the big names. Used Doesn’t Mean Abused. One of the fastest growing types of business is the consignment store.

Chances are you’ve got a few pieces tucked away at the back of your closet that could use a little rediscovering. If you have an uneasiness when it comes to “used” clothing, know that there are many different tiers of second hand stores. If the stigma of thrifting gets to you, remember, it’s not “used”, it’s “vintage”.

Sure I knew about the ‘White sales’ – the ones stores used to have in January on sheets and towels and such, but I really hadn’t a clue that there is a best time to buy many other things! On their personal finance site, US News suggested that some kids get games they don’t want and can’t be returned.
