Look for eco-friendly products with limited recyclable packaging, low-toxicity, no petrochemicals, are biodegradable and phosphate-free. Source organic produce; you might pay more but you will appreciate the great taste and nutrition. The earth is staggering under enormous amounts of trash in land-fill, much of it able to be recycled.

Those machines use plastic coffee pods that are often labeled as being recyclable – but only if you fully wash them out, take them apart, and separate all the pieces… which we know no one is doing. These are no more green than just recycling that pile of paper. Organic cotton disposables from Huggies. Paper shredders.

Let’s begin at the top and work our way through the manufacturing, consuming, and disposal of a pair of denim jeans. And while denim is recyclable into wall insulation, most everyone just throws the jeans away, heads to the store, and repeats the cycle, over and over again. Look for organic cotton denim. This is not good.
