However, it is possible to have a greener Christmas, as well as find gifts that are a little more eco-friendly. Instead, focus on ways that you can give items that are inexpensive, personal, and eco-friendly to some degree.

Children are constantly being bombarded by advertising for the newest and latest ‘thing’ and are being swept along by the aggressive consumerism of our times. However, helping other people actually improves self-esteem and pride in oneself, as well as bringing happiness and that simple ‘feel-good’ sensation.

I’m guilty as well. I give away perfectly good electronics because they are ‘out of date’ – they don’t work with new software. Actually repairing a broken item yourself will give you a nice sense of accomplishment. What happens when your favorite pair of leather boots starts to lose it’s soul?

Well, I don’t know about you but this week has felt very long and tiring. Flexo from Consumerism Commentary asks us if we should combine money with our spouses ? My husband and I did when we got married and it works well for us. I do know others though that haven’t and they seem to be doing well too.
