My WWII era uncle and his wife made trips annually with one of their 4 grandchildren (a different one each year). We took my Mom with us to Florida in the 1980’s.

For our 40th wedding anniversary, we chose to take our adult children and our grandchildren on a vacation to Yellowstone National Park. They brought sparkling wine and a miniature of a TV – with the good news that they had a real big screen waiting for us at home. We had fun together and fun separately. The family expects it.
