Updates on our Debt Freedom Plan over the years: Our Original Debt Freedom Plan – written in March 2014. Happy New Year’s 2019: In January 2019, we were down to one final non-mortgage loan, so we created just one financial goal for the year—-to pay off that last non-mortgage debt by December.

As much as I enjoy performing in Christmas shows each holiday season, the audiences won’t come after the New Years, which brings my work to an end before I’d like it to. I keep expenses low by living below my means and when windfalls of cash come in from bigger contracts, the money goes into replenishing savings and retirement funding.

Every January 1, I get caught up in the hopeful feeling of the upcoming new year. My husband and I make some financial goals at the start of every year. Most of them are related to our small business, my husband’s chiropractic office, but last January I got a bee in my bonnet about debt…thank you, Dave Ramsey.
