Teachers income in Texas actually starts pretty good ($44,000 when I started), but it doesn’t increase much and there aren’t any bonuses (some years it doesn’t even increase WITH inflation…one year we didn’t even get a raise due to the economy). Once our kids are in school our goal will be to look into buying our dream home.
